Resurrect Bio brings together expertise in plant molecular immunology, computational biology, AI and high-throughput screening to develop stronger, more durable crop disease resistance.

Co-Founders

Dr Cian Duggan

Cian is the CEO and Co-Founder of Resurrect Bio. After studying Genetics at Trinity College Dublin and Biotechnology at Imperial College London, he completed his PhD in Plant Molecular Immunology.

In 2021, Cian received the Innovate UK Young Innovators Award and spun Resurrect Bio out of The Sainsbury Lab, Norwich.

CEO & Co-Founder

Prof Tolga Bozkurt

Tolga is Co-Founder of Resurrect Bio and Professor of Host-Pathogen Interactions at Imperial College London.

His research combines cell biology and AI-driven approaches, including AlphaFold-based structure prediction, to understand and engineer plant immune receptors for disease resistance.

Co-Founder

Sophien is Co-Founder of Resurrect Bio and a Group Leader at The Sainsbury Laboratory, where his research focuses on plant diseases, plant immunity and the interactions between plants and pathogens.

He completed his PhD at the University of California, Davis, before joining TSL in 2007. Sophien is a Fellow of the Royal Society and received the Linnean Medal for his contributions to plant pathology.
